Was Your Farmers New World Life Insurance Claim Denied?
We’re ready to hear from you!
Farmers New World Life is required to treat every life insurance claim with a neutral eye, paying out claims when the facts, the medical records, and the policy language indicate that a claim is valid. Farmers, like other big life insurance companies, often shirks this duty by rejecting claims that should be granted. Whether there is simply evidence missing in the record or Farmers is deliberately misreading its own policy language, Farmers adjusters will deny claims whenever they think they can get away with it. The insurance denial lawyers at Gianelli & Morris refuse to stand by while beneficiaries are denied the compensation that they deserve.
If your life insurance claim has been rejected by Farmers New World Life, you do not have to deal with the consequences alone. A dedicated and passionate life insurance claim denial attorney at Gianelli & Morris can help you fight back against the denial. Wrongful insurance claim denial should not go unanswered, and we won’t let it.
Who is Farmers New World Life?
Farmers New World Life Insurance Company originally started as Catholic Life Insurance Company in Washington State. It was later renamed New World Life Insurance Company, and between 1953-1954, it was acquired by Farmers Group, Inc. and renamed Farmers New World Life Insurance Company. Farmers New World Life and other corporate entities are now all part of Farmers Insurance Group, an insurer group that generates more than $11 billion annually through the sale of insurance and other financial services. Farmers is the third-largest insurance group in the United States and is, in turn, run by Zurich Insurance Group, a massive international insurance provider.
The point here: Farmers is not the friendly, neighborhood “mom and pop” financial services provider that their commercials would have you believe. Farmers New World Life is just one limb of a massive insurance behemoth, and they are concerned with profit, first and foremost. Farmers has been accused of a wide range of bad faith conduct over the years. In fact, the American Association for Justice (AAJ) ranks Farmers as the sixth-worst insurance company in America, as reported by the National Law Review. Leaked internal documents found that Farmers trains adjusters to minimize payments, make lowball settlement offers, and otherwise put profits before policyholder interests and rights. Farmers incentivizes adjusters with bonuses, pay raises, and other perks if they successfully limit payouts.
Fighting Back Against Farmers New World Life Denials
Farmers, like other big insurance companies, will look for any reason to deny a life insurance claim. They may have legitimate cause for a denial, but they are also known to stretch the facts, the policy language, and even medical science to suit their interests. Farmers has a duty to policyholders and beneficiaries to conduct a neutral investigation and analysis and to pay out when the policy says benefits should be due. If they violate their obligations, they may owe beneficiaries not only the policy benefits but also additional damages for bad faith conduct.
At Gianelli & Morris, our life insurance denial attorneys are well-acquainted with the reasons for denial typically relied upon by Farmers and other California life insurers. We’re prepared to help you fight back after a denial based on, for example:
- Policy lapse. Farmers will terminate policies when the premiums stop being paid. They are required by law, however, to give sufficient notice to interested parties, and to wait to terminate the policy until after a proper grace period. Without sufficient notice and a grace period, a termination is unlawful and ineffective.
- Policy rescission. If the policyholder made material misrepresentations in their life insurance application, Farmers can rescind the policy, even after the policyholder’s death. However, rescission is only allowed within two years of the policy start, and only if the misrepresentation was actually material (important).
- Excluded cause of death. Farmers New World Life insurance policies may exclude coverage for certain causes of death, including preexisting conditions and criminal activity. Beneficiaries, however, do not have to take Farmers’ conclusions regarding the cause of death at face value. If the medical records contradict Farmers’ claims, you can push back against a claim denial.
