Was Your Insurance Claim Denied by AAA Life?

Gianelli & Morris is Ready to Help!

Purchasing life insurance should be like buying a bed: You do your research, shop around, find the one you like, hand over your money, and that’s that. So long as you pay your monthly premiums, you should rest easy knowing that you are covered in the event of a loss. You may need to update your policy every so often should your family composition or income stream change, but you should feel secure that when you or your loved one passes, the benefits will be paid out. Unfortunately, with insurance, it’s rarely that easy.

Large insurance companies like AAA Life may look for any excuse they can find to avoid paying out on claims. They can drag out investigations, root through the application for errors, stretch the policy language or the medical evidence well beyond logical conclusions, and otherwise manufacture reasons for claim denial wherever possible. Just because your claim was denied by AAA Life, however, does not mean that you are not entitled to benefits. The life insurance denial attorneys at Gianelli & Morris have spent decades helping people recover the insurance benefits they are owed despite the claims of intransigent insurance providers. If your AAA life insurance claim was wrongfully denied or if you have been subjected to bad faith behavior by AAA Life, call Gianelli & Morris today for trusted advice and assistance.

Who is AAA Life?

AAA Life Insurance Company is a financial services company offering whole life, term, universal, and guaranteed life insurance policies, as well as accident insurance. AAA Life sells life insurance to members of the AAA auto club (American Automobile Association), a non-profit organization that provides auto services to members around the country. AAA Life is owned by several of the larger entities in the AAA organization and currently has over one and a half million active policies.

Claims Against AAA Life

AAA Life has been the target of several lawsuits over the years alleging that AAA Life wrongfully rescinded policies and inappropriately denied claims. AAA Life has, for example, tried to rescind policies and deny legitimate claims based on alleged omissions concerning pre-existing conditions, even when the policyholder was never diagnosed with those conditions.

Other complaints allege that AAA Life has a pattern and practice of deliberately overlooking possible medical problems and explicitly allowing life insurance applications without a medical evaluation, only to rescind policies and deny claims when the insured party passes away within the rescission period. The scheme allows AAA Life to collect premiums from policyholders but, should a few actually trigger the policy coverage, AAA Life has an easy out to claim foul play regarding the policy application. Meanwhile, the company can generate “goodwill” and additional business by issuing policies without requiring a medical examination. For the insurer, it’s a win-win.

AAA Life insurance policyholders who have been harmed by a deliberate scheme to create gaps in the policy application and create grounds for later rescission may have a claim against AAA Life not only for the premiums due but also for bad faith insurance conduct in violation of California law. An experienced insurance denial and bad faith attorney can help you get the benefits you are owed and additional compensation available should AAA Life wrongfully deny your claim or rescind your policy.
